Background
Solids dewatering focuses on liquid reduction while providing safe handling and disposal of residuals at a wastewater treatment facility.
Slurries contain free liquid and bound liquid. Sedimentation, stationary and moving screens can only remove some of the free liquid and none of the bonded liquid and are only effective with extremely diluted wastes, which complicate the problem. Doda screw and roller separators accomplish solids separation by squeezing out all of the free liquid plus some of the bound liquid.
The separation process can be used at the end of the digestion process to create a compost fertiliser up to 40% dry matter or “Green Bedding” for animal production.

This concept was first introduced in 2009 exploring ways to quickly separate solids from animal slurry, removing a large portion of the phosphate contained in the solids. We offer several solutions which can be tractor drawn or truck hook lift skid units for ease of placement on site close to the slurry storage facilities.

We use heavy duty Doda Screw press units which offer greatly enhanced dry matter content of 30%-40%+.
This drier material offers a greater ranges of use for the solids.
This material can be 80% lighter than other separation systems on the market.

Roller Separation Systems
The roller separator provides a highly efficient and reliable system for the separation of the slurry liquid fraction from the solid one by using a combination of a rotating drum with adjustable compression rollers.
The Doda rotary separator is ideal for industrial applications where a high volume of slurry with relatively low solid content needs to be screened. The rotary screen allows the liquid fraction to pass through the screen by gravitational forces initially before being further pressed by a rubber roller against the screen; leaving solids that can be up to 28% dry matter.

Green Bedding Systems
Interest in Green Bedding had been rapidly increasing following on from its popularity in the USA and mainland Europe over the last few years. Over 500 farms have converted to Green Bedding systems in Holland alone with 80% of all new cubicles moving to deep bedding.
The DODA green bedding system is designed to produce recycled bedding material from separated cattle slurry or anaerobic digestate. The benefits of this system gives cows enhanced comfort and cleanliness in the cubicles, a reduction in mastitis levels in the herd whilst also reducing bedding costs.
